Mentioned by The Federal Reserve as one of the most important banking developments seen in the past several years, RDC gives Metro members the ability to deposit a check 24-hours a day, without visiting a branch office.
How Does This Work?
RDC uses your smart phone camera to create photographic images of the front and the back of a check you wish to deposit. You then send us the images electronically, and we deposit that amount into the account of your choosing.
Deposits can be made 24-hours a day, 7-days a week and often post more quickly than paper checks. Plus, once submitted, you’ll receive an electronic confirmation that your check was received and deposited.
Are There Any Restrictions?
Yes. RDC is a safe technology (in many ways safer than paper checks) but some restrictions do exist:
- No third-party checks
- No checks over $2,000
- Any items stamped non-negotiable
- Checks with evidence of alteration
- Limit of five checks per day
How Do I Get Started?
You access Metro’s RDC from within Metro’s Mobile Banking App. Once you’ve downloaded the app (search Metro Credit Union, Omaha in your app store) and set up your mobile banking account, simply select Metro Mobile Deposit from the menu and you’ll see instructions on how to make a RDC deposit.
