Metro Credit Union had a fun and busy 2015 and we couldn’t have done it without you, our members. We reflect upon our year and thank you for doing business with us. We had office anniversaries – the Maple Street branch celebrated 20 years of being open and the 72nd & Ames Street branch celebrated 4 years of being open. The L Street branch will celebrate a one year anniversary
on December 15th. A grand opening neighborhood cookout took place at the new L Street branch in early spring along with a $1,000 prize drawing. Construction is progressing on our new branch located in Papillion off 72nd and Cornhusker. We are eager for its opening in the first quarter of 2016.
We had a wonderful time with our members at the Metro Credit Union Annual Member meeting in late February. Attendees enjoyed dinner, board report and interactive Super Bowl game with prizes.
Metro Credit Union was on the “big screen” as new commercials were filmed and aired on TV throughout the summer.
Metro Credit Union was ranked as a top credit union in July for providing outstanding member service in the best score of “would recommend others.”
In August, we replaced all member debit and credit cards with EMV chip cards to enhance security.
Our annual MemberFest took place at the Saddle Creek and Maple Street branches in September.
November 2nd marked a year since we updated our financial operating system. Metro now has an industry leading software, and a proven, stable system to accommodate our future growth. We’ve also updated our mobile app so that remote deposit capture and other features are available for easier on-the-go banking.
We were proud to support a variety of community-wide events in 2015. Metro Credit Union sponsored NE SciFest, which took place in April to engage children and adults in science through various events and activities around Nebraska. In July, we participated in the Owl Ride, Omaha’s nighttime, urban, cycling adventure supporting the Meyer Foundation for Disabilities. We also collected water, sunscreen and fans over the summer for the Open Door Mission’s Beat the Heat campaign. We donated funds to our employer partner Nebraska Medicine for advancing patient education and healthcare assistance to improve health outcomes.
Throughout the year, staff and families continued volunteering through the Helping Hands of the Lydia House on the fourth Sunday of every month to aid the Open Door Mission. With the upcoming holidays, we will continue our Holiday Fee Exchange program November 30- December 9th with the collection going to the Open Door Mission to help children and families.
Thank you for being on this exciting journey with us as we keep dreaming and follow our mission “To Improve the Financial Lives of Our Members.”
